Bit of a retro feel to the free motion background this week. Old-school digital retro with a modern twist. Used Trapcode Soundkeys to vary the z-axis values in a radial motion.

The poster frame doesn’t really do it justice, but here’s another After Effects tutorial – this time using Trapcode Form and fractal noise to create a combination of mountain or cityscape terrains. Very useful for cockpit composites, sci-fi, action sequences, technology, military-style pieces.
In what will hopefully be the first of many tutorials, I’ll be showing you how to create a looping motion background using After Effects and Trapcode Particular. If you’ve ever wondered how to get your particle generator to loop, you’ll find the secret in here!
Sorry about the quality of the audio – a decent pop filter is next on my shopping list!
